2nd House is the house of sustanance. 2nd house from any house is the house of sustanance and 12th house is the house of losses..1st house is the house of creator(bramha) and 2nd House is the house of sustanace(Vishnu) and 7th house is the house of rudra(shiva).

Arudha lagna is connected to the image of the native and 2nd house from this would deal with the sustanace of the yogas.  In the same way 2nd house from  UL deals with the sustanance of the marraige. Jupiter is the natural karaka for the sustanance hence connected to Vishnu.

2nd house as told earlier is the house of voice/speech hence 2nd house from Mercury to be seen for voice/speech.  Mercury denotes communication.

If any bhava lord is connected to the 2nd house the traits of that bhava get connected to the 2nd house and exerts the influence.

If SUN is residing in the 2nd house the native would have good income.  Here we need to understand the concept of Argala. 

Argala:

Every house or planet placed in any bhava would have Argala(Intervention) on the 2nd,4th,11th house and this is obstructed by planets or houses placed in  12th,10th and 3rd house. Hence if we see a planet placed in the 2nd house from Natal lagna it would have Argala on the 11th house provide there is no planet placed in the 3rd house.  

Sun being a natural malefic it would also have argala on the 12th house hence native would spend money lavishly..

Saturn being placed in the 2nd house would make the native work hard to earn money

Jupiter/Venus being placed in the 2nd house is akin to dhana yoga

Moon would ensure that native to have lots of money provided there is no aspect of Sun and Mars, Nodes woudl destroy the money and Saturn would make the native struggle to get money

Mars would ensure that native fights to get money

Rahu would make the native use all sorts of tricks to get money

Mercury makes the native use his voice as a source to get money

Dispositor of the 2nd House:

2nd house lord in the 1st house would make the native suffer because of lack of money

2nd House lord in the 6th would ensure that the native fights to earn money(war/competition)

2nd houser lord in the 12th house becomes a source of loss for the native

2nd house lord in the 3d house would destroy the enemies 

2nd house lord in the 2nd house would tend to destroy the offspring

Arudhas are very important to be checked to see from where the native is earning.  Arudhas in the 2nd house would give us a clue with regard to activities taken up by the native for purpose of earning money

Varnada lagna is also a special lagna which give us a picture about the earning capability of the native.  VL in the 2nd house is good for earning money.
